10 ways to unclog toilet without dirt

Everyone likes to keep their home clean and in order, doesn't it ?! But sometimes small unforeseen events can happen. And one of the most worrying, no doubt, is the clogged toilet.

Besides causing a bad smell, the clogged toilet compromises the overall hygiene of the bathroom and even makes it unusable.

But, so that this is not a cause for despair in your home, here are some ways to unclog the toilet simply, effectively and without dirt:

1. Pour bleach into the toilet

One of the first valid attempts is to pour some bleach into the toilet, wait about three hours and then flush.
Plínio Protásio, operations manager of the Roto-Rooter plunger, points out that pouring bleach into the toilet can in some cases solve the problem. It will depend on the cause of the clogging. If it is droppings, bleach can clear the passageway. In cases where clogging is caused by cloth, wood, plastic, the use of bleach will be ineffective ?, explains.

2. Throw vinegar and baking soda into the vase

Mix ½ cup baking soda with ½ cup vinegar and pour directly into toilet. This is a home-made solution that sometimes brings good results.

Protasium points out that in some cases it may work, depending on the cause of the clogging. But, it may not solve. Then you will have to move on to another method.

3. Pour detergent and water into the toilet

Dilute some detergent in boiling water and pour the mixture into the toilet. Discharge then, noting if clogging has been resolved. You can repeat the process up to three times. If you find that it didn't really work, try another method.

• In some cases it may resolve, it will depend on the cause of the clogging. If it is crap, it can clear the passage. But in cases where clogging is caused by cloths, wood, plastic, the use of detergent will be ineffective ?, says Protase.

4. Use a plunger

A very suitable way is to use the plunger and flush simultaneously. This requires a good amount of water in the vessel.

"This can solve the clogging problem because it creates a vacuum that can cause the object blocking the water to flow down the pipe," Protasius explains.

5. Use caustic soda if necessary

Use caustic soda only if other methods have had no effect. Be very careful not to keep in direct contact with the product, so wear gloves and glasses during the process.

In a bucket filled with water, add two tablespoons of caustic soda and two tablespoons of salt. Pour the contents of the bucket into the vase. Do not repeat this procedure often, by the way, avoid it.

Protasium comments that this measure may have an effect in some cases, depending on the cause of the clogging.

6. Try to discharge by completely sealing the air inlet

Cover the toilet seat with a trash bag or wrapping paper. Make sure that no open space is left for the air passage. Then close the lid, sit on the toilet lid, and flush for about 30 seconds.

This can solve the problem in some simpler cases of clogging. This action creates a vacuum and puts pressure forcing down, unclogging the vessel ?, comments Protase.

7. Use a pet bottle as a plunger

Cut a pet bottle in half, place a broomstick in its nozzle, then place the bottom of the bottle (cut) into the toilet hole and do several up and down movements (like a rubber plunger).

This measure may resolve the clogging, according to Protase. "That's because it creates a vacuum that can cause the object that obstructs the passage of water to go down the pipe," he says.

This was even the suggestion of reader Arnaldo Placido Dos Santos, who tested and approved the method.

8. Use a floor cloth

• You can pick up a floor cloth, put a glove on, push the cloth into the toilet hard (be careful not to let it go down the toilet as this would aggravate the problem), flush and pull at the same time. Note: Is it inadvisable to throw toilet paper in the toilet ?, explains Plínio Protasio.

9. Use a plastic ball to seal the vase

If you have a plastic ball (big ones) at home, put it on the toilet seat. Push the ball until part of it enters slightly, completely sealing the vessel. Then flush, being careful not to pop the ball. Depending on the case, the pressure will be able to send away what is obstructing the passage.

10. Call a Professional

If you really can't unclog the toilet with any of the homemade solutions, is it better not to insist? which may end up making the clogging worse. Ideally, immediately seek a company or a specialized professional to unclog the toilet.
