7 Japanese Habits That Can Help You Lose Weight

With an obesity rate of only 3% among women (compared to 11% in France), the Japanese are definitely on the right track. Learn about eight habits that make them leaner:

  1. The Japanese base their diet on fish, soy, rice, vegetables and fruits. In this list there is nothing greasy.
  2. They eat much smaller portions, served in small bowls. A tip that is worth following, after all, the smaller your plate, the less you will eat.
  3. Cooking with light oils, such as canola, is one of the Japanese habits that keeps them lean.
  4. They choose rice to eat at every meal instead of bread instead. To keep the silhouette dry like theirs, avoid breads, cakes and pastries in the snacks.
  5. They make breakfast their biggest and most protein meal. If you want to follow this tip, you will feel more willing all the time until lunch time, with enough energy to drive away drowsiness.
  6. Japanese eat smaller portions of dessert than us Westerners. You don't have to stop eating the wonderful dessert you're in the mood for just to get thinner. Just eat a small portion.
  7. Physical exercise throughout the day is an Oriental habit. Incorporating exercise into your routine such as walking to work, or going to a bus stop and even camping on weekends with friends are some of the practices that these people perform that make them healthier.
