7 Reasons To Be Persistent And Never Give Up On Your Goals

We all have goals we want to achieve. The road to them can often seem difficult and even impossible to walk. The road to getting a dream job, moving up or setting up one's own venture can be long and quitting is a recurring thought.

The desire to give up is natural, but shouldn't we make it a push to succeed? No victory happens without first having a battle. In times when everything seems to be lost it is paramount to believe in your inner strength and to be persistent, for only then will your goal be achieved.

Being persistent can seem difficult and laborious when the path to the goal has been long traveled. In these situations, when the willingness to quit seems to be greater than the desire to succeed, seeking motivational help is very important and can serve as a support to continue on your path to achievement.

With this in mind, with the help of Leticia Guedes, psychologist and partner-owner of Vivencialle Clinic, we have created a list with 7 reasons and tips for you to be persistent and keep striving for your goals, check out:

1. Better to try and fail than never to have tried.

The phrase may sound cliché, but you will never know what will happen if you don't try. Remember that trying is always better than nothing. Also understand that failure is completely normal and does not mean that you did not try hard enough. "Not trying can block your wills and with that you get aimless, determination and lose the desire to do something," says the psychologist.

2. There will always be people trying to make you give up

"It is necessary to listen to who loves you, but it is also important to trust you," comments Dr. Leticia. If there are people trying to make you quit along the way, that doesn't mean you should give up on your goals. Face it as motivation and prove that you can. "Remember the only person who is entirely connected with you regardless of the circumstances is yourself, because only you know what goes on in your head and in your heart," concludes Dr. Leticia.

3. Be an example of motivation

Inspire the people around you. Motivate your family, friends, and coworkers by showing that if you can try and succeed, so can they. "When we engage in something that gives us pleasure, it makes us more collaborators of dreams and realities of others, so we should keep the habit of sharing our motivation," adds Dr. Leticia.

4. Experience and learning along the way

Everything in life depends on the perspective you look at. Decide to look your way to the goal as best you can. "Listen to older or more experienced people who have experienced a similar situation, they can be great sources of wisdom," advises Dr. Leticia. The road to success can be arduous, but it will provide countless positive experiences and learning if you so decide.

5. Success May Be Closer Than You Think

Many times the path can be long and complex, but sometimes we get complicated and do not realize that success is right there or pessimism can end up hindering. "Each one has its own brilliance and this is what we must hold on to see that we are successful," comments Dr. Leticia.

6. Success along the way

The path to your goal is not always totally arduous. By trying to reach a goal you can achieve some successes along that path. ? It is necessary to set goals and take advantage of mistakes as learning ,? recommends Dr. Letícia. So learn to capitalize on potential successes along your way and have this as a motivation to keep persisting.

7. Things can always get better

If things are bad, remember that they can always get better. "It takes optimism to know how to deal with obstacles and failures, if today did not work, remember that there will be a better tomorrow, and the world goes round," says Dr. Leticia. So if you believe you have hit rock bottom, know that with the right amount of effort and determination you can achieve your goals. Keep the faith in yourself, as things can always get better.

Things don't always happen when we want to, so it's important to be patient. If your goal has not yet been fulfilled, keep faith and optimism as they will give you the strength not to give up.When success knocks on your door, remember to make the best of it, after all, you deserve it and struggled hard for it.
