Cheese Fondue Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200 g gruyère cheese
  • 300 g Emmental cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 150 ml dry white wine

Step by step

  1. Using a knife, peel off the surface of the cheese. Then pass the gruyère and emmental pieces of cheese on a grater. Mix both types of cheese in one container.
  2. To prevent cheese from sticking, rub a clove of garlic on the bottom and edges of a nonstick pan. Turn the pan on low or medium heat. The fondue needs to be prepared slowly, otherwise you risk burning.
  3. Put the white wine in the pan. Wait for the wine to warm up a bit. Pour all the cheese into the pan.
  4. Use a wooden spoon, stir the cheese in the pan always in the same direction. When the cheese has completely melted, put in the pinch of nutmeg. Keep stirring until the texture of the cheese becomes more homogeneous.
  5. Once the cheese has reached its optimal consistency, transfer the recipe to a specific fondue appliance.

A suggestion is to taste the cheese fondue with different types of breads.
