8 Tips for Taking the Perfect Selfie

Taking photographs is no longer something exclusive to photographers long ago. With the emergence and popularization of the digital camera, this landscape changed completely and after the advent of camera phones, easy access to photography became even more pronounced.

Coupled with the ease of taking and viewing images instantly, the Internet has intensified the culture of photography. Social networks like Instagram and Pinterest further value an image that can represent more than a thousand words. Today many fashion and beauty icons appear first on social networks and only later earn magazine covers.

Fitness muse like Carol Buffara, Gabriela Pugliesi and Bella Falconi are just a few examples of women who end up using Instagram to promote a lifestyle and are very successful. There are also fashion and beauty specialists such as Thassia Naves, Camila Coutinho and Camila Coelho. If you want to do like them and do well in selfies, see the following tips.

1. Enlightenment is everything!

You can use the best camera in the world, but if the lighting isn't cool, it's no use. Photography will not look good, after all image and light is all about. ? Photography = photo (light) + spelling (write). That is, write with the light ?, said photographer Luciana Cristhovam.

Whenever you can, opt for natural light that is always more advantageous. But if you're indoors, look for the brightest spot possible before taking your selfie.

2. Learn to enjoy what you have around you

Couldn't go to the beach or city park over the weekend to take those amazing pictures? No problem, if you are a photography lover, know that you can use what is around you to compose the image.

Luciana says that the objects and surrounding elements can not only compose the scenery, but also help in the quality of the image. "Light or almost transparent color curtains are good light diffusers and give great results." She explains that light-colored furniture, such as sideboards, also acts as lighting aids.

3. Choose the background well

A weekend in the country or on the beach with the one you love deserves to be registered. Enjoy the landscape and take some pictures of yourself, after all the beauty of nature helps to create a setting that can enhance your photo and yield many likes.

The photographer explained that the beach is also a great place for selfies as it provides incredible looks and good light. She gives the hint: "On the beach, take pictures with your back to the sea so you can show the beautiful blue it has."

4. Capriche in pose

No matter the day, the time or the place, the important thing is to be happy and look natural that the result will be a beautiful photo that will catch the attention of your followers. If what you want is to show off some special attributes, such as a flat stomach or a new haircut, bet on images that are able to highlight what you want. So everyone will notice and you still get some extra compliments!

If you are feeling overweight and don't want to show it, there is a way out. Luciana revealed that to appear thinner one does not need to do hundreds of sit-ups, just a simple movement. "For this there is a straightforward trick: position the camera above your face and you will appear not only with your face, but with your thinner nose as well."

Raising your chin a little and slightly tilting your face are also tips that can make a difference in selfie.

5. Stay tuned for make

Makeup may already be part of your daily life, but will people see exactly the same thing you see? Be careful not to overdo the blush, use base tones and concealer different from your skin tone and be sure to clean everything that has become blurry. However small the mistake when applying makeup, when posting the image on the Internet, several people (especially the closest ones) will see you.

Many famous ones have already made this mistake, so since you have the power to choose which image to post, preview the photo before posting. So you select the best one and no one gets to know the make error.

6. Beware of the flash

Selfies can be taken anyway or anywhere. But the photos taken in front of the mirror have become classic. If you are taking such a picture, be sure to take the camera flash. After all, no one wants that light bursting in the picture right?

7. Invest in a cell phone with a good camera.

If you love taking photos and want them to look perfect, it may be time to invest in a camera phone. A phone with an 8 megapixel camera usually generates great images, but for those looking for even better resolution the market already has options with 13, 20 and up to 41 MP. Just decide which one fits your style and your pocket best.

8. Use and abuse photo apps

In addition to social networks that already offer filters like Instagram itself, it's easy to find photography apps for both Android and iOS.

    Aviary and Afterlight

Aviary is one of those magical apps where you can edit the photo, cropping, applying filters, framing, tweaking, saturating, focusing even creating memes. It is free and available on both platforms.

Afterlight follows the same multifunctional style as Aviary and is well known for its easy-to-use interface and application quality. The downside is that it is only available from the Apple store.

    Bokehful and Instabokeh

Want to have a different effect on your photo? Bokeh apps are very useful. They act as if a professional camera had been used to distort and blur certain points in the image. This kind of effect can be applied by Bokehful on AppleStore or Instabokeh on PlayStore.

    Over and Phonto

Both are applications that have the function of inserting text in the photographs. With a large number of typography, color options, changing positions and a variety of options, apps can give a new purpose to your selfie. Over can be found on the Apple platform and Phonto on Google.
