After Zumba's success, SH? BAM is the new fashion in gyms

Have you heard about SH? BAM? This is the newest way to exercise in a fun and group way and, therefore, has conquered the gyms of various cities in the country.

Marcia Angeli, SH? BAM technical assistant in Brazil, explains that SH? BAM? It is a dance class characterized by trendy music and beats, simple and sensational movements. "Is that the perfect way to train and let the star, the dancer within you, manifest?" Even if dancing is still a challenge for you?

According to Marcia, SH? BAM? lets you be the? big star? of your "dance show".


Is the expression SH? BAM slang? which means something as cool as "fireworks". A burst of light? A star is born and? SH? BAMMMM ?? like the noise of fireworks ?, adds the assistant coach.

What is SH? BAM class like?

According to Marcia, SHBAM is a 45 minute class in which one will be sweating and smiling. "It has a friendly and fun atmosphere where participants feel welcome and know that it is safe to try the movements without embarrassment," he says.

The moves are simple for everyone to participate in and the music leads the whole experience. "We, SH? BAM teachers and students, have the fun of being carried away by the moment and experience the freedom and joy of dancing with a group of friends," he adds.

Zoom X SH? BAM

The SH? BAM method was created by Body Systems Latin America. Therefore, the actual class should be taught by a trained teacher at Body Systems at a licensed academy.

The method looks like Zumba, but the difference is mainly in the rhythms. Does Zumba stimulate sensuality with calming rhythms? like salsa, meringue, cumbia and reggaeton?, typical of Latin countries. In SH? BAM class, the sound is more focused on pop, hip hop and other very current songs. And the choreographies are based on rhythms with simple movements.

Tips for SH? BAM Lessons

Below, Marcia gives some tips for those who want to practice SH? BAM:

  • For best results, the recommendation is to attend class two to three times a week.
  • A rest day between classes or doing some resistance or flexibility exercise will provide balanced body training.
  • After 12 weeks a good cardiovascular base may have been built, so the practitioner may choose to take up to 4 classes per week, depending on their goal.
  • It is recommended not to take a fasting class to avoid a lack of energy or even hypoglycemia, especially in times of peak intensity.
  • Wear light and comfortable clothing to allow your body to perspire and thus maintain normal temperature.
  • Respect your fitness and avoid excessive tiredness, resting whenever you feel the need.
