To have beautiful and healthy hair you need to take some care on a daily basis, whether investing in good products or even adopting certain habits when washing and combing.
But often these seemingly common habits can end up being detrimental to the hair or scalp, causing a lot of damage.
Dermatologist Lucas Fustinoni points out some of the main mistakes people make when taking care of their hair and explains why it happens.
1. Tie hair very strong and long
It is more practical to get your hair stuck. But friction of the fastener during the day may damage the wires. Also, when the traction is too strong, stretching too much can lead to loss of wires in the front region. Especially avoid nylon fasteners.
2. Use dirty and full brushes
Washing the brush every week or at least every two weeks is essential. This practice helps to remove all debris, as each time someone combs their hair, it brings materials that stick to it and can cause scalp irritation.

3. Eat too little protein
Food is also important. The hair and nails are made of keratin, a component produced by proteins. Having a low protein diet makes it harder to have strong hair and nails.
4. Use cotton pillowcases
Cotton is a fabric that generates a very large friction with the scalp, which, over the years, generates damage and can lead to split ends. Prefer silk or linen pillowcases, which are smoother fabrics.
5. Take a very hot shower
Very hot water on the scalp opens the cuticle, makes brittle hair less shiny and further stimulates sebum production, worsening problems such as dandruff, hair inflammation, psoriasis and even baldness.
6. Do not exchange products
If you make any changes to your hair? chemicals, straightening, dye? It is necessary to change the shampoo and conditioner by choosing one that is appropriate. With each change a new product that should be used when washing.
7. Overeating
Getting too much hair treatment can also make your hair dull and brittle. In hydration, for example, amino acids adhere temporarily around the hair, but if amino acids accumulate in the hair shaft, they break down.

8. Rub very hard
With wet hair, the hydrogen bridges break and all the wires tend to be smoother. But it is also more vulnerable to damage to the hair shaft. So be careful when rubbing while showering or while it is not dry.
9. Enter the pool with dry hair
Upon entering a pool, the wire absorbs water full of chlorine and impurities. The tip is always to wet before or use specific products, preventing chlorine from entering so forcefully in the hair.
