Does sparkling water hurt?

Water is important to our health and so we should drink up to 2 liters a day to help our body function and hydrate the body.

Despite being viewed with suspicion, sparkling water does no harm and contrary to popular belief, it can even contribute to the prevention of stomach or esophageal disease. Sparkling water only ends up being bad if it is consumed to excess, just like any other drink.

People who do not have gas intolerance can drink this water without problems as it has the same hydrating properties as natural water.

Those with gastrointestinal problems are not advised to drink too much, as too much gas can irritate the stomach mucous membranes and make the problem worse.

Many people confuse sparkling water with soda because they both have gas and therefore find that after drinking they get a little swollen, so most end up choosing not to consume it. What is a mistake, because what is fattening is not the gas but the calories of sugar contained in the drink, which is the case of soft drinks.

Sparkling water has no sugar whatsoever, and both carbonated and natural sugar have no calories, so it does not put on weight, much less swells after being consumed, and is healthier than soda.

A tip for a hot day is to mix sparkling water with lemon and ice. The drink is refreshing and tasty.
