Get to know fit, a simple technique for defining your curls

Darling of curly and curly bloggers, the setting, a technique of finishing and texturing, ensures that the curls remain defined for several days. The technique takes its name precisely from the appearance of tapes when performing it.

"Fitting is nothing more than a more careful way to texturize the strands and define curls more precisely," explains hair stylist Claus Pita. The technique mainly helps to combat frizz, reduce volume if this is a problem, and even out and define curls.

The effects of setting can last several days, but it depends on each thread and the habits of each woman. "My tip is that women avoid fiddling with locks many times throughout the day," says Claus. ? The less you get your hands on your hair when it is dry, the longer the setting will hold ?, completes the hair stylist.

One of the effects of setting is volume reduction, which may be an advantage for some but disadvantage for others. For curly hair that already has less full yarns or who like a lot of volume, setting may not be such an interesting technique. For these curly ones, the ideal is to opt for another finishing technique.

How to make step by step

The technique is indicated for curly and curly hair. Remembering that the setting does not form curls, it just helps define the natural curls, removing the frizz and reducing the volume. Although it sounds complex, it is a very simple finishing technique. Below we have listed the step by step for you to do at home, with tips from hair stylist Claus Pita, check it out:

  1. Separate the strands: After the shower, with the strands still damp, divide your hair into about five sections.
  2. Apply the product: apply some of the product (can be combing cream, leave in or other specific finishing products) on one of the locks. Always start at the bottom of the hair and comb the hair with your fingers, separating it like ribbons.
  3. Form the tapes: distribute the chosen product over the entire length of the wick using your fingers as a comb. Make firm movements, as if straightening your hair. When you are done, you will see that the wick has split into three ribbons.
  4. Knead the tapes: make hand movements towards the root. At this point you will already see that your curls are much more shaped, because each ribbon will give rise to a curl.
  5. Repeat the procedure: Repeat throughout the hair and then let it dry naturally.

For those who are new to the technique, it may seem time consuming and complicated, however with a little practice is very simple to do the setting. As the technique ensures greater durability of the curls, you also save time with care in the coming days.
