And much more! After all, they are really essential, regardless of the model, and make all the difference when it comes to putting together a look.

But with so many pairs of shoes available at home, it is common for questions to arise about how to clean each one. But, this act is totally necessary so that different types of shoes are kept longer.

In addition, proper shoe cleaning is essential to prevent the proliferation of bacteria and fungi and is a major factor in combating unpleasant odors and diseases caused by foot sweating such as mycoses.

? It is important to invest in a proper cleaning process of shoes, because even ordinary washing can damage them, since the parts remain very wet, with a tendency to accumulate harmful microorganisms ,? explains Rejane Nascimento, manager of 5àsec training, specializing in cleaning and sanitizing tennis and other shoes.

Below, the professional gives some tips on how to wash the main types of shoes:

Sneakers

Rejane Nascimento points out that the ideal is always to take the pairs of sneakers to a laundry, where professionals will know how to take care of them in the best possible way, since there are sneakers made with different materials, of different qualities? And all this needs to be taken into consideration.

But in general, it can be said that in order to wash shoes, it is first necessary to separate the laces and insoles, which should be washed together in a protective bag inside the machine.

• A mild detergent can be used on a soft bristle brush (or in some cases with slightly firmer bristles) and rub it gently into the fabric parts of the sneakers. In rubber parts and soles, you can use river stone or bushing ?, explains Rejane.

After that, the sneakers must be placed in a protective bag to be carried to the machine. “It must be triggered in a delicate program so as not to ruin the shoes. Otherwise, can the sole even take off ?, says the professional.

After the procedure already mentioned, you can place a dry bath towel next to the sneakers in the machine and start the spin program. This causes the shoes to leave the machine practically dry, according to Rejane.

The 5àsec training manager also adds that the shoes, after washing, should not be placed in the sun, but in an airy place, where they should stay for about 24 hours.

Leather shoes

Leather shoes require special care. Everything must be done manually. A soft toothbrush with diluted neutral soap can be used, as well as a slightly damp towel. Then, brush the small part of the shoe and then the damp towel in the same place. And so on, until you finish cleaning the whole shoe, he says.

It is still necessary to do the same cleaning inside the shoes and, afterwards, to pass a deodorant in it.

• Leather shoes should also be left in a cool place. And after that, can some moisturizer or Vaseline (in the case of smooth leather) be applied to the shoes?

"In the case of suede shoes, you put the moisturizer inside a spray bottle to splash it from afar," adds the professional.

Fabric shoes

Shoes made of fabric also call for special care. One can even use a baby hairbrush. It should be passed, a little damp, on a part of the shoe and then the dryer. And so on, in each part of the shoes, to prevent the fabric from getting wet and stain ?, explains Rejane Nascimento.

A tip from the expert is to use two drops of vinegar in the water where the brush will be wet, which will help prevent the formation of stains on this type of footwear.

Rope Sole Shoes

They also deserve special care, as they should be wet as little as possible. "You can use a damp cloth with mild soap and rubbing little by little," he says.

If necessary, she adds, a dryer can be used to keep any part of the shoe a little wet. After the procedure, it is interesting to pass a deodorant on the shoes.

Patent shoes

To clean this type of footwear, use only a damp, lint-free cloth (flannel or towel) (which may be a cream or a little furniture polish).

"It is important that both cream and furniture polish be placed on the cloth and never straight on the shoes, not to mark them," says Rejane Nascimento.

You now know that every type of footwear needs special care. So if you don't have time to clean your shoes, take them to a specialized laundry room, which will use the right products and procedures to make them look perfect longer!
