How to have a less caloric birthday party

It is possible to offer the guests a tasty and less calorie menu. Having healthy habits does not mean giving up good dishes, meetings and celebrations. But we should not associate celebrations with unruly food. Celebrating the birthday in a healthy way also represents the care we have with our guests ?, says Julio Marin, nutritionist at Apetit Food Services.

Snack is good, and everyone likes it!

In the case of snacks and snacks, the secret is substitution. Opt for lighter ingredients and baked dishes. “You can exchange the fried snacks for the roasts. Other healthy options are natural sandwiches stuffed with minas cheese, tomatoes, turkey breast and lettuce, says the nutritionist.


Wraps are different and allow you to use creativity when filling them up! You can bet on stuffing with cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, mine cheese, cream cheese, turkey breast, tuna, chicken, lettuce, arugula, carrot and cucumber. A good alternative to birthdays at night is a barge with sushi and sashimi ?, suggests the nutritionist.

Drinks

Leave the sodas aside, after all, you'll have to increase your workout at the gym just to burn the amount of sugar in them. "We can invest in natural juices, flavored waters (with slices of orange or lemon with mint) or iced fruit teas that are not only caloric but healthier," suggests Marin. For those who do not dispense alcohol, prefer "wine or fruit sack".

Barbecue can?

If you are thinking of barbecuing, go for salads and choose lean meats. You can make a table with varieties of green leaves and fruits. For seasoning, leave salt, vinegar and olive oil on the table.


Another option, which is already becoming a trend in restaurants in São Paulo, is to offer vegetable kabobs. This way, your guests will be able to balance their consumption between lean meats and vegetables.

Sweets

Swap that super stuffed cake for the fruit kabobs. Especially in summer, when they can and should be served well chilled! "We have the option of also offering dried fruit straws, a natural yogurt-based ice cream cake with seasonal fruit syrups," recalls the nutritionist.

Decoration

Use and abuse the color! Choose cups and plates of acrylic with different colors and textures. Remember that harmonizing the environment with certain shades ensures more comfort and makes the environment much more cozy. Invest in puffs and pillows to sit with your friends and of course catch up on gossip! Good party!
