How to make rice: Learn an easy way to let rice go

Rice is a staple in everyday life, a side dish that goes with many dishes, and is present on the table of Brazilians in virtually every meal.

It can be served from the trivial rice with beans as in different and more elaborate ways.

Whatever the menu, the ideal is that the rice is very loose. For this, some tips at the time of preparation are essential. Learn how to do it.


Soltinho rice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup and ½ of water
  • ½ onion and 1 garlic clove (optional)

Step by step:

  1. Put the oil in the pan over low heat;
  2. Add onion and garlic if you want it to be more seasoned;
  3. Add dry rice, without washing, and stir in salt;
  4. Stir well for about 2 minutes;
  5. Pour the water and leave it uncovered with high heat;
  6. When it begins to boil, cover and leave on low heat;
  7. After about 20 minutes, taste and, if it is still half hard, add another ½ cup of water;
  8. When dry, turn off the heat, cover tightly and leave for 10 to 15 minutes;
  9. Then just pass the fork to loosen some more and serve.

This amount serves from three to four people. An important tip is not to stir the rice after adding water as it hurts the beans and causes them to starch, which sticks together. It is also important not to move away from the stove as there is a risk of burning.

Rice In Pressure Cooker

Simply rinse the rice in a sieve, pour oil and chopped onion into the pressure cooker until browned, pour the rice, sauté briefly, add salt and water, mix and cover. When the pan starts to sizzle, set 1 minute, turn it off, wait for the pressure to come out. The result is a very loose rice. Watch the full video with the walkthrough.

Microwave Rice

Put a cup of parboiled rice, two cups of boiling salted water to taste in a ceramic container leaving a clear space because the water will boil. Microwave and set for 7 minutes at medium power. After that stir and leave another 7 minutes on high power. Remove, cover and allow to dry completely. See the step by step.

Rice in the electric pan
