Moreira explains that the surgery usually lasts from one to three hours, depending on the amount of fat to be liposuctioned.

Cannulas are used to fat liposuction. Each body part has a specific cannula. For example, the cannula used in the back is 5mm. In the abdomen, 3 to 4mm. A half-centimeter incision is made, and the cannula is introduced for aspiration. Then, if necessary, the patient's own fat is grafted ?, explains Moreira.

• General anesthesia is usually used which, on the contrary, than most people think, is safer anesthesia than local anesthesia with sedation. The length of stay is usually 24 hours?, Highlights the surgeon.

Scars tend to be small and usually located in "hidden areas," for example, under the bikini mark, inside the navel, in the mammary fold.

Like any surgery, liposculpture offers risks. "Therefore, it must be done in a hospital environment, supported by intensive care, and it is also essential that it be performed by plastic surgeons, members of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery," says Moreira.
