The economy with national production reaches R $ 800 million for the government, money that is expected to be invested in other projects. Preparations for manufacturing have already begun with the purchase of a large stock of bottles and the order may reach 10 million units by the end of the year. Estimates indicate that in 2017 the country will be ready for manufacturing on an industrial scale of the drug.

The news pleases the more than 7.6 million diabetic Brazilians, of which 900,000 are attended by the SUS, who feel relieved at the possibility of easy access to the drug avoiding major problems.

The death rate from diabetes is high, according to government figures, reaching an alarming 50,000 annual deaths. It is hoped that with the measure much can be prevented and controlled regarding the disease.
