New patch promises to treat and prevent migraine

With everyday stress and rush, headaches are becoming more frequent, one of the most common being migraine. The cases mainly affect women between the ages of 20 and 40. The problem greatly disturbs the routine, the mood and interferes with all tasks. Along with this disease, nausea and stomach pain are common, which decreases the chances of using oral medication.

Faced with these problems, the US is developing migraine patches that can be placed directly on the skin. The product, which is already in its final testing phase, releases sumatriptan, known to help treat seizures. The technology that makes the patch work is still poorly known here, and the patch even has built-in LED light to warn you when the medication is finished. When the adhesive is applied to combat pain, the two poles on it begin to work when turned on (as there is even a power button) and gradually the compound is deposited in the bloodstream without the need to pass through the digestive tract. .

The novelty that bears the name of Zecuity has already been approved by the FDA in the US, similar body to the Brazilian ANVISA. Now what remains is to wait for the treatment to arrive in Brazil.

Attention: There are many types of headaches, so you need to consult a specialist to see if your case applies to this treatment.
