Reverse lights are ideal for darkening the wires gradually

Changing the look is very important for female self-esteem. Cut hair, dye, do strands and anything so that the mirror result is favorable.

Change can sometimes be risky and there are gradual ways to do it so as not to be scared or to regret the outcome. Getting hair changes by light is a good example.

The lights are gradual dyes that lighten small strands according to the tone chosen. Derived from them, the reverse lights are the darlings of women today, because they allow to darken their hair.

Reverse light is the same procedure as the traditional one, but, as the name implies, it is the inverted process: the colors used are darker than natural hair.

According to Marques de Paula, from Jassa salon, the style has many advantages. It returns the naturalness of the hair and rejuvenates the woman. In addition, it allows to soften the very blonde tones or make the white or gray hair more stylish, with darker nuances. It's a good choice when your hair is too light and you don't want to go back to the original shade all at once.

How to do the reverse lights

To choose colors, the professional indicates that there is no rule, since the goal of style is to offer naturalness. "In reverse lights we have to give back the most natural shade of hair every person has," says the hair stylist, and further ensures that the lights look good on any skin tone.

The choice of the procedure used to make them depends on the desired result. Just like any procedure in the locks, there are various techniques for obtaining the style. Marques de Paula suggests two: the aluminum foil and the cap, which makes the lights very thin.

Here's how to do each procedure and choose yours to change your look:

Aluminum Foil Reverse Lights

To do, some materials will help you:

  • Aluminum foil cut to square;
  • Dye brush;
  • Ink of your choice.

3. Choose the first wick and rest on one of the pieces of laminated paper. It should be behind the hair, with the tops of both together;

4. With the brush, apply the paint, from the root of the threads to the tips;

5. Fold the sheet in half along with the hair so that no part of the lock is exposed;

6. Let it act for the suggested time and wash it afterwards.

Reverse lights with cap

To make the reverse lights with cap, you will need the following materials:

  • Disposable gloves;
  • Light cap;
  • Crochet hook to pull the threads;
  • Ink of your choice;
  • Brush.

See below how to do it:

1. With your hair dry and well straightened and untangled, comb back to cover all the threads;

2. Warm the cap with the dryer to increase its grip. Put on the cap then;

3. With the help of the needle, pull in each hole the locks you decide to dye;

4. Apply the paint with a brush and let it act for the time requested by the manufacturer. Because they are reverse lights, there is no need to discolor the strands first;

5. Wash the hair to remove the ink.

Reverse lights x inverted highlights

The lights are nothing more than strands with shades different from the original hair color. However, they get their name because they are thinner than traditional strands. According to Marques de Paula, "the lights have to be much thinner to give a very natural effect, while the strands are already thicker and end up being well marked."

Special cares

Because they do not require discolouration, reverse light care is not as demanding as traditional light care.

Even so, it is essential that the hair is always hydrated so that the naturalness of the color is beautiful and alive.

Marques suggests the complete treatment, which is no secret: "Use good quality shampoo and conditioner, specific for each type of hair, and treatment always with good masks and ampoules, also specific for each type of hair."
