Study Reports Key Data on New Generation Teenagers

The balance of power between parents and children has long been changing. Nowadays, parents are less listened to by children, something that has changed the education process compared to past generations. This has all been pointed out in a recent study of seven to fourteen year olds, which found that these children have more control over their parents than ever before.

  • 74% of young people prefer not to work as someone's employee. Instead, they want to work for themselves. From this, it can be concluded that today's youth are not interested in performing more arduous trades, as their parents and grandparents would have accepted.
  • Over half ? 56% - confessed that they were impatient with the salary they receive.
  • 29% of parents admitted that their children's opinion "mattered a lot" when it comes to market purchases.
  • 27%, when deciding on family vacations, take into consideration what their children want.
  • When buying personal products and technology gadgets, parents also choose what their children prefer before deciding on the brand alone.
