Survey Reveals Percentage of Women Who Admit They Have Cheated

It seems that women are starting to cheat almost as much as men. According to a report that Bloomberg Businessweek published this week, women have had more extramarital affairs in the past two decades than in previous years.

The percentage of men who admitted to infidelity remained at 21%, while the percentage of women who have affairs rose by nearly 40% to 14.7% in 2010.

According to director of the Aubum Montgomery Center for Demographic Research, Yanyi Djamba, “Men are still more likely to cheat than women. But the difference in the percentage between the two genders is narrowing.

One possible reason for the rise in female infidelity is the changing cultural and economic climate in America, according to University of Washington sociologist Pepper Schwartz.

This is not the first study to suggest that women are reaching men in infidelity. Earlier this year, 33% of men and 19% of women admitted to being unfaithful in a love relationship survey that involved more than 100,000 people. Research has pointed to some of the most common reasons why people cheat. Sexual boredom and lack of communication with partners were some of them.
