Like all sodas, the cola drink has its invention related to a pharmaceutical utility: it was meant to be tonic against fatigue, depression and headaches. But mixed with carbonated water, it has become one of the most appreciated (and sold!) Non-alcoholic beverages in the world.
The mixture basically contains sugar, carbonated water, caffeine, phosphoric acid, citric acid and a small amount of cola nut extract. What is surprising is that these same ingredients that produce a taste-pleasant refreshment for thousands of consumers can be useful in many other rather unusual household tasks. See which ones:
1 ? Cleaning pans
Do you know those stains darkened by constant boiling, common mostly in kettles? To get rid of them, cola is as efficient a substitute as aluminum cleaning detergents.
2 ? Remove rust
Carbonated drinks are extremely effective at removing rust, especially cola sodas. This is because citric acid is effective in preventing and eliminating rust stains. Just wet a cloth with some of the drink and rub over the rust.
3? Loosen screws
This is a variation of the previous tip. Rusty screws may be loosened by contact with a cloth wet with glue soda by wrapping it around the screw. Leave for a few hours and it will be easier to move.
4? Unclog toilet
Your toilet is full of slime and other stains and you don't have a toilet cleaner on hand. Have you ever considered using cola to clean? Pour the liquid over the stains and let it act for at least an hour. The acids in the soda will help remove dirt.
5? Recover the glow of coins
Old coins and metal decoration objects regain their shine if you soak them in the cola soda.
6? Take care of the garden
You can eliminate slugs from your garden using soda: just spread the drink on large plates in the garden. Mollusks are attracted to the sweet smell, but cannot escape the liquid.
7? Remove bubble gum from hair
It is possible to get rid of chewing gum without having to cut the hair. To do this, dip the wick into a bowl full of cola. Let it act for about 5 minutes and you're done! It will be extremely easy to remove the chewing gum.
8? Relieve stomach upset
Some argue that cola can be used to relieve stomach upset. But to be effective, the drink must be at natural temperature. Cold, it can make the situation worse.
9? Produce Aged Effect on Photos
How about enhancing the photos, giving them a sepia tone? This is possible if you lightly spray some cola soda over the image and then let it dry. But be very careful not to overdo the amount.
10? Tenderize meat
The sugar and acidulant (phosphoric acid) in cola juice make excellent meat tenderizers. How about putting this tip into practice at your next barbecue?
11? Make barbecue sauce
It is also possible to prepare a delicious barbecue sauce by mixing cola soda and tomato sauce. The use of cola in recipes, incidentally, is present in cooking in various places around the world. The drink gives the dishes an aroma of cloves or cinnamon, while the gas evaporates completely in the fire.
