Black and white is undoubtedly the big bet of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo fashion weeks for next summer. Even though it is a warm season, which for many people combines more with colorful shades, the black and white combination is the one that will be on the rise, whether in plain pieces or in graphics such as stripes, checkers and ball prints.
Both at São Paulo Fashion Week, which took place in March, and at Fashion Rio, held in April, black and white looks were predominant on the catwalks. They are classic and chic colors, you can't go wrong. "It's an elegant and absolute combination of two colors that oscillate between presence and absence," says fashion consultant Constanza Pascolato.
How to combine black and white in looks?
Avoid mixing one piece in black and white with another with strong prints, as the result can be a very exaggerated look. If the piece is with very thin stripes or small plaid, it can be combined with another colored piece.
Beware of white pieces as they 'get fat'. Choose white only on the body parts you want to highlight. Black, on the other hand,? Thin? and can be worn on the body part you would like to disguise. Wide stripes fit only thinner women, as they increase the silhouette.

Other trends presented for the summer
Trendy Transparency
Another bet for the summer that prevailed on the catwalks was transparency, whether in bolder or more discreet pieces. Dresses, shirts or beach outings in different materials, such as silk, lace, tulle and others, will surely come with everything and gain more space in the wardrobe of those who like to follow the news. "But to use transparency you have to be up to date and balance with other pieces, so as not to become vulgar," says stylist Arlindo Grund, host of the Fashion Squad program at SBT.
Nude in makeup
More natural skin without much color should continue to be trending next summer. The idea is to bet on make nude, first using a good foundation for uniformity, concealer to hide some imperfections and, finally, earth tones in both the face and eyes. In the mouth, the tone of the lipstick is also faint, and goes from brown to pink. "Clean make-up is a worldwide trend," says hairstylist and makeup artist Robert Stevão, who is responsible for the beauty of some of the fashion labels at Fashion Rio and São Paulo Fashion Week.
Wet hair
The wet effect, obtained through the use of liquid gel, and the strands attached to braids or bunes, both the simplest and the most structured, remain high in the summer. The hottest season of the year calls for hair that is stripped and with a natural air, not very elaborate. “The idea is to give a face of someone who just left the beach. But I don't believe in trends, I think it is worth daring and betting on what suits each person and every situation ?, says Carla Biriba, makeup artist responsible for some fashion week shows.
