How to make nail polish dry faster: 4 tricks to dry it quickly

Have you ever heard that a woman's only moment of fragility is when she is waiting for the nail polish to dry? Joking aside, smudging a freshly made nail may not be much of a problem, but it's quite annoying and wastes more time than planned.

If you get frustrated with your nails because you just can't keep your nail polish intact until it is completely dry, you need to know about these homemade tricks that promise to speed up this process and leave you free to do your activities without worrying about your nails. :

1. Cold air jet

Do you know that urge to blow your nails to see if the nail polish dries faster? A much more efficient way to do this is to use the blow dryer cold air. To do this, you must choose the lowest power of the device and keep it at least 20 cm from your nails, otherwise you risk leaving them full of balls.

One thing to note is that the cold air blast dries only the most superficial layer of the enamel, but not the bottom layers. Therefore, you still need to be careful not to bump your nails, as a stronger impact could damage your newly created manicure.

2. Canister with ice and cold water

Cold is a great friend of manicure! However, this trick needs pre-preparation, otherwise you will end up ruining the enamel in an attempt to speed up drying.

Thus, it is interesting to leave a bowl of ice in the freezer before enameling your nails. When you are done doing your manicure, add cold water to the bowl, wait two minutes and dip your fingers for 60 seconds. Let the water dry your nails naturally so as not to smudge. With this trick, your nail polish will firm much faster.

3. A drop of olive oil or vegetable oil

Another way to speed up the drying of your nail polish is to apply a drop of olive oil or other vegetable oil of your choice to the nail base, just after enameling. Wait a minute for the product to spread and place your fingers in cold running water.

Again, the low temperature will accelerate the drying of the enamel. However, the oil has one more advantage, as it prevents strands of cotton and other particles from sticking to the enamel when it is still wet, preventing you from having to repaint your nail.

4. Apply thin layer nail polish

Applying the nail polish on a single thick layer may seem more practical, but it will take longer to dry. Therefore, the tip is to give preference to three very thin layers, always waiting for each one to dry before applying the next one.

That way, the total drying time will be shorter and you will be less at risk of smearing your nail polish soon after leaving the salon or spending a long time doing your nails at home. In addition to these homemade tricks, you can turn to specific products to speed up enamel drying, such as commercially available drying bases and sprays.
