Learn how to do newspaper nails

Newspaper nails were successful here at Le Baragosse, and like many of you who follow us, we also wanted to try this technique to find out if it really works.

Since we know most of you are wondering how you can achieve this amazing nail effect, we decided to do a step-by-step teaching how to do newspaper nails here.


Really, there are no mysteries in the technique for effecting nail art. Newspaper nails do not require much skill, much less decoration brushes. The newspaper acts as a sticker: the paper's letters move to the enamel with the help of alcohol and become a super original print.

Then pick up bits of newspaper, alcohol, pick a light nail polish and get to work!

Step-by-step newspaper nails

The first step in how to make newspaper nails is to apply nail polish. Choose the color you want, but it is best to use light shades to make the letters look good. Here, the chosen nail polish was Impala Disco Skates.


Wait for the nail polish to dry a little. Cut out bits of newspaper so you can apply them on your nails.


Prepare a little cup of alcohol to dip the pieces of newspaper into.

After dipping the piece of newspaper into the alcohol pot, apply the paper over the nail. An important detail: the result is better if the technique is made with the glaze still fresh. We tried with the very dry nail polish, the letters were weak in the nail.

Hold your hand firmly and press the alcohol-moistened piece of newspaper into your nails, but be careful not to move the paper or smudge it.

Wait a while and gently remove the paper. Do the same on the other nails.

Let it dry for a few minutes and apply a base coat or extra shine to finish.

Ready! Now you have amazing nails!

Ah, the dirt on the hand! The letters that are marked around the fingers can be removed with the help of a cotton swab moistened with alcohol or acetone.
