Yaz and Yasmin are suspected of causing 23 deaths in Canada

Canadian television network CBC reported on Tuesday that 23 women had died of blood clots and that their cause may be linked to frequent use of birth control pills.

Doctors investigating the cases suspect that Yaz and Yasmin contraceptives, both produced by Bayer, are causing the problem. The laboratory has already received several actions related to the harmful effects of these drugs, including in the USA.

In 2012, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning stating that information on their use is linked to more clots in their blood.

What is most worrying is that Yaz and Yasmin contraceptives are among the most popular in Brazil and despite warnings, they have not been banned yet. If you take any of these medications, don't despair, talk to your gynecologist.
