8 Attitudes You Must Avoid at Work

There are certain attitudes that we commit and that without even realizing we end up embarrassing, offending or even bothering someone who works with us.

This is normal, but can be avoided by taking some minor precautions. We have listed some of these attitudes so that you do not experience moments of discomfort with co-workers.

1 ? Lunch at the office desk

Although it sounds like a great idea, eating at your desk at work can be a disrespect to your colleagues. Some people don't like to smell food at work, especially before and after lunch. In addition, leftover food may fall on the spot and this may be badly seen by your colleagues. Prefer to eat in the work canteen or outside the workplace.


If there is no other option, make an exception and be sure to try to soften the effects: clean the place, do not take strong smelling food and be discreet.

2 ? Talk about religion or politics

Another thing that should be avoided to keep the environment harmonious at work is to discuss religion or politics. You must respect each other's choices and never try to convince others to like or believe the same as you. The same applies to football, where possible, avoid the topic of work talk wheels.

3? Criticize certain attitudes categorically

Making categorical comments about certain attitudes, personal tastes, and the like may seem harmless, but you may be strongly criticizing something your co-worker likes. This does not mean that you can not give your opinion, you can, but should do so in a polite and subtle way, so as not to create a bad mood among employees and not hurt anyone.


4? Staying long on social networks

Spending a lot of time checking Twitter, personal email, and Facebook can give you the impression you're not really committed to the job. 5? Arrive late at meetings

6? Get behind someone's computer

Another attitude that can make your co-worker very angry or, at the very least, embarrassed is to stand behind the computer looking at what he or she is doing on the computer. Avoid this always. 7? Leave your phone ringing loudly

In the workplace, the sound of a cell phone ringing can mean annoyance and a loss of focus on those who are focused on what they are doing. For avoid discomfort among colleagues, leave the ringtone low, near you, or leave the phone to vibrate only when you have a new call, message, or notification.

8? Do not turn the sound too loud on the headset

Another thing that may end up bothering those who live with you at work is the loud sound in the headset. If you like to work listening to music, be aware that if it is too loud, others will listen too. So keep an eye on the volume and avoid complaints.
