Today, on Friend's Day (07/20), I took a moment to remember special people who have come through my life and how they each left their mark. I remember as soon as I met one of my best friends and is my oldest friend, I was delighted with a perfume she wore in high school. This perfume has become one of my favorites. Since then, whenever I feel her fragrance, I remember the good times lived next to her.
I also remember the smell of the house where she lived, marked by so many afternoons studying, doing extra-class work, talking and doing therapy from friend to friend. As it were today, I can remake in my mind the image of the house, always very clean and very organized, sometimes with that fresh smell of cleanliness, sometimes with the wonderful smell of past coffee.
We currently live a few miles away, so when we meet, we always have that sweet feeling of meeting someone who was part of so many important moments in each other's lives and we try to enjoy each second together.
This year my friend gets married. And it is with great honor that I will play the godmother. I can't wait for the time to see her enter the church and walk the flower-scented path. And a fragrant path? or rather a fragrant life? are my wishes for her today on Friend's Day.
