Hair Stretching

Stretching hair is a technique widely used in the United States and Europe for those with curly hair. Stretch It is an English term meaning stretch. Basically, capillary stretching consists in prolonging the time between straightening or relaxing.

The advice of hair specialists is to interweave the retouching over a period of eight to ten weeks, a period that is sometimes short and can damage the health of the hair. Considering that the hair grows on average one centimeter a month, in eight weeks it will have grown only two centimeters and applying the chemistry only on the grown part of the hair is almost impossible. The result is that the hair ends up receiving an extra load of the straightener, which can leave the hair weak, dry and brittle.

In capillary stretching, this period is gradually extended. If you touch up the root every eight weeks, for example, you can wait nine until the next application, then ten, and so on.

What is important is that at this time the hair will receive enhanced hydration, especially with concentrated oil-based products, which are great for restoring the natural greasiness of the hair that is usually removed with the application of chemistry.

One downside to hair stretch is that depending on the type of hair, after the eighth week the virgin hair root can be well exposed and a bit embarrassing when combing the strands. On the other hand, there is the advantage that getting less chemical and more treatment, the strands get stronger and hydrated.
