Kate Middleton's wedding dress

Finally the mystery of the Catherine Middleton's wedding dress has been unraveled. During the preparations for the royal wedding, the hints were among several designers, but hit who bet on Sarah Burton, creative director of the brand Alexandre McQueen.

Kate was expected to wear a dress inspired by Princess Diana's full, puffed-up sleeveless model, but she opted for a simpler but very elegant model, with reference to the dress worn in the 1950s by Hollywood star Grace Kelly in marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco.


O Kate Middleton Wedding Dress it is all made of ivory silk organza, with long sleeves, heart-shaped neckline bodice, all covered by hand-crafted Cluny and French Chantilly lace. The taffeta skirt left the waist well-marked and opened slightly at the hips.

On the 2.70m (2ft) hem and tail of the dress, delicate hand embroidery of flowers made by the Royal School of Needlewoork.


A curiosity about the production of the dress is that to keep the embroidery flawless and firm, the hands of the people who worked in the production had to be washed every 30 minutes and the needles changed every 3 hours.

The veil under Cartier's much-coveted royal diamond crown, borrowed by Queen Elizabeth II, was silk tulle and carried embroidered flowers on the hem.


The delicate earrings designed by designer Robinson Pelham in oak leaf shape with diamonds were a gift from Kate's parents and resemble the Middleton family crest.

O Kate Middleton's bouquet, in a shield shape, followed the traditions of the real meanings of the language of flowers. It was made with myrtle (emblem of marriage and love), lily of the valley (return of happiness), hyacinth (constancy of love) and the flower called,? Sweet William? (bravery), a tribute from Kate to her husband.
