How to store contact lenses

Contact lenses, if worn correctly and with the advice of a specialist, can give you a superior view of glasses, while providing comfort and practicality to the wearer. For this, they should be taken care of daily, as they are very delicate and any carelessness can spoil them. The lens deadline set by the manufacturer must be adhered to. Using them outside of the recommended period may cause cornea problems. If the eyes are irritated or sore, it is not advisable to put on the lenses so as not to irritate the eyes further.

Prolonged use of the lens causes protein to accumulate on its surface. Therefore, you should only wear the lenses for the recommended period and avoid wearing at bedtime. In cases such as dry eyes and eye surface inflammation, contact lenses should be avoided.

Tips for taking care of your contact lenses

Some tips are helpful for conserving contact lenses. Before handling, wash your hands thoroughly. For each type of contact lens, there is a specific type of cleaning solution, and it is indicated by the ophthalmologist.

Do not wash the lens in warm or hot water or heat the cleaning solution. To prevent the lens from losing its function or becoming dry, never leave it out of your eyes or solution. When not using contact lenses, store them in the lens case dipped in disinfectant solution.

Whenever you take off lenses, you need to wash, wipe and disinfect them. The same should be done with the case. Always keep in good hygienic condition to avoid any problems.
