Know the spices that help you lose weight

Losing weight is an arduous task for most people. Facing strict diets, changing lifelong habits, and continually exercising are important steps toward a slimmer body.

Of course, for nutritionists, it is necessary to determine what is the purpose of each patient, after analyzing their diet and their routine habits, and only then, to define the ideal menu for that particular case. If, however, you want to eliminate a few pounds, a few simple details can make all the difference in the scale.

Michelle Schoffro Cook, nutritionist and Ph.D. in natural traditional medicine, has several articles on the health benefits of food consumers. Cook seems to know exactly which foods are indicated to help treat almost everything.

Obesity is not off the list and, once again, the knowledge of the experienced nutritionist is surprising. Did you know that you can burn fat by correctly choosing the spice to use in meals?

Garlic and onion

British researchers at the Garlic Center in 2001 found that people who ate one garlic capsule a day had greater immunity to the common flu virus. But the benefits of garlic do not stop there. Research conducted by Embrapa Vegetables in partnership with the National University of Brasilia (UNB) found that garlic can help lower cholesterol.

The onion is not far behind either. According to a study by researchers at the Mario Negri Pharmacological Research Institute in Italy, vegetables are able to reduce the risk of cancer by up to 14%. For Cook, both condiments are effective in eliminating fat from the body, and protect it against viruses, fungi and bacteria.

Turmeric (or turmeric)

According to a study presented at the 17th International Symposium on Functional Medicine, held in 2010, turmeric or simply turmeric helps regulate metabolism, is good for the skin and even protects against cancer. Cook explains that the spice is rich in beta carotene, which protects the liver from free radical damage and decreases the fat storage rate in its cells.

Cinnamon

Researchers from the US Department of Agriculture have found that consuming a teaspoon of cinnamon with meals accelerates the body's metabolism of sugar by 20 times. Sugar, when in excess, can result in fat accumulation.

chilli

Popular with fans of Mexican food, chilli can also help you lose weight. In a study conducted at Purdue University in the United States and published in the journal Physiology and Behavior, researchers found that this type of pepper can reduce appetite and increase calorie burn.

The explanation is that chilli contains capsaicin, an active substance that significantly improves body fat burning. Cook explains that the correctness, both for this condiment and for all the others, is to include them in the daily menu, so that their consumption is constant.
