Panama hat

It's been a long time since the hat is no longer just a men's accessory and has started to make the head of women. Among the various models, the panama hat has been featured in several fashion shows, has won the famous and yet shyly is taking to the streets.

It started appearing in last summer's collections and this year has gained more momentum, but season in, season out, the Panama hat gets different versions to match the latest trends and never goes out of style.

Despite its name, the panama hat was created by the Incas over a thousand years ago and actually comes from Ecuador. The straw used to make the hat is only born in that country and the name came from the French and Americans who used the accessory to protect themselves from the strong sun while working on building the Panama Canal.

The Panama hat is handcrafted of braided straw, has a light color and can have various shapes. There are models of panama hat with smaller crown, high crown, round, square, with brim worked and with discreet or colored ribbons.

Besides being an accessory that brings a charm to the look and gives a stripped touch to the feminine looks, the panama hat is perfect for protecting the face and hair on hot and sunny days.

How to wear panama hat

The smaller rounded panama hat makes it look more feminine and can be combined with flowery dresses, little monkeys, boyfriend pants, tulip skirt and cut-off shorts. The tall, square-top Panama hat model gives a more masculine look and looks good with flare jeans, saruel pants, tailoring pants, blazers, dresses and high-waisted shorts.

To rock the production, use the hat as a contrast point in colors and textures, avoiding making combinations with the clothes.

A great tip on how to wear a panama hat is to tie your hair with a low bun. You can also make a ponytail or a braid.
