Studies Reveal What Men and Women Consider Betrayal

A study published by HuffPost Divorce and conducted in partnership with YouGov looked at 1,000 American adults (men and women) about what they considered cheating. See the following results:

  • 56% of women said they consider a kiss on the mouth cheating, while only 40% of men said the same;
  • Younger people consider kissing a betrayal more than older people. 74% of young people (18-29) say that kissing is cheating, while only 53% of adults 30-44 agree with the statement;
  • 85% of women interviewed said they considered a hot SMS or sensual photo sent to someone else cheating, but only 74% of men said the same;
  • 70% of women involved in the survey agree that having a relationship of affection and feeling with someone is betrayal, while only 50% of men think alike;
  • The survey also found that as people age, they regard the relationship with feeling more as a betrayal: the younger ones don't care that much, the older ones actually agree that it's a form of betrayal;
  • As for considering having the ex or the ex on Facebook a betrayal, only 26% of women and 21% of men agreed that it is betrayal.

What do women consider to be treason?

Another study by Askmen showed the following attitudes that the 100 women interviewed consider as betrayal by their partners:

  • 35% consider betrayal: Flirting (eg when the man makes a "joke" about the beauty of a co-worker or friend or lets out a light sung);
  • 36% consider cheating: Having an affective connection with another woman, a? Friendship? very strong;
  • 41% consider cheating: Dancing? Clinging ?;
  • 79% consider cheating: When a man goes to a strip clue and pays for a private dance;
  • 80% consider cheating: Virtual sex (even worse if there is masturbation);
  • 100% consider cheating: Any kind of sexual contact (even without penetration).
