In this sense, the accumulation of tartar on the teeth is a great villain that, more than a bad aesthetic aspect (since the teeth turn yellowish or even brownish), can facilitate the development of caries, among other oral discomforts.

Rafael Puglisi, dentist specializing in cosmetic dentistry, who has among his famous clients as Neymar, Silvio Santos, Hugo Gloss, among others, comments that tartar is a biofilm that forms, proliferating bacteria, becoming a bacterial plaque that is keratinized. . “It's like dirt on the surface of the tooth that ends up staining or changing color. And can tartar be pigmented depending on the food you eat ?, he adds.

Other examples of foods that you can eat fresh daily are apple, spinach, pear and plum.

2.? Brush? the teeth with strawberries

A fairly simple homemade tip is to mash strawberries (very ripe), place them on the toothbrush and use them as a common toothpaste.

However, Puglisi points out that this is another myth. "What helps a lot to eliminate tartar is the mechanical force of brushing (normal with toothpaste)," he says.

But in fact, the mechanical force with which you brush your teeth is what ultimately eliminates tartar?

4. Use hydrogen peroxide

Another known recipe is to mix half a cup of water and half a cup of hydrogen peroxide to make a mouthwash a few seconds. But once again, care must be taken not to damage the teeth.

Puglisi points out that this measure is not effective. "What can happen is the clearing of that structure (the accumulated tartar), which is also very difficult to occur," explains the dentist.

5. Use Aloe Vera Gel

Another widespread recipe is a mixture of: 1 teaspoon Aloe Vera gel + 1/2 teaspoon baking soda + 10 drops lemon essential oil + 4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin. Then brush your teeth once a day with the mixture.

6. Chew sesame or parsley

The tip is to chew a handful of sesame daily without swallowing. After that, the teeth should be brushed normally.

Puglisi explains that this habit will release a basic load in the mouth and does not eliminate but prevents the formation of tartar.

The same tip goes for parsley: you can chew a handful for a few seconds and then spit it out, usually brushing your teeth. However, care must be taken to wash the leaves thoroughly before doing so!
