Care for conserving swimwear

Regardless of technology, the quality of the material used in the manufacture of bikinis and swimsuits, chlorine, sand, salt, sweat, suntan lotions and moisturizers wipe out the fabrics and the color of the pieces.

It is therefore worth taking some care to conserve swimwear, keep fit and increase the durability of the pieces.

And keeping your favorite bikini is easier than you think. Check out some tips:

  • Excess chlorine in pool water can reduce product durability;
  • Do not store wet bikinis and swimsuits, especially if you have just left the pool;
  • Citrus-colored parts have lower light and sun resistance;
  • Laundry soap that hardens the fabric and hot water fades;
  • The dryer can destroy the fibers and modify the shaping.

To wash and store

To wash bathing suits, it is best to use clean, abundant water and to do so soon after use. Parts should be washed by hand with mild soap and water, squeezing gently.

To rinse, cold water, which eliminates chlorine and salt water. Do not let soak. To remove stains, use with mild soap, neutral soaps are not as aggressive as other types of soap.

Once washed, allow bikinis and swimsuits to dry naturally, in the shade and without use of dryers. Do not use the iron. Store in a cool place (avoid using those bags provided by stores) to avoid mold. The airy, paper-lined drawer is the right place to keep the bikini beautiful all summer long.
