Homemade scrub for all skin types

Exfoliation is a treatment that can be done even at home with common ingredients. It is advisable to exfoliate the skin once a week on the face and every 15 days on the whole body. Eliminating dead body cells stimulates the natural renewal of the skin, avoiding ingrown hairs, blackheads, pimples and excessive oiliness. Thus, exfoliated skin is cleaner, hydrated and soft.

Exfoliation on the face

Washing our face several times a day gives us the impression that our skin is not completely clean. With a good homemade exfoliation, we can relieve this unpleasant sensation. First wash your face, neck and neck thoroughly with a soap appropriate for your skin type, then apply the scrub to the face.

There are several types of homemade face scrub recipes for every skin type. Check out some of them:

Oily Skin Scrub

  • 1 tablespoon crystal sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Mix the ingredients and with circular motions, exfoliate the face lightly so as not to hurt the skin. Then massage the face for three minutes. Rinse with plenty of water and to finish, pass an astringent lotion to close the pores.

Tip: Oily skin also needs to be hydrated. Opt for oil-free gel products that are specific to this skin type.

Dry Skin Exfoliator

  • 1 tablespoon finely rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Mix ingredients and apply to face with circular motions, exfoliating skin for up to three minutes. Rinse your face thoroughly and then apply a facial tonic to close the pores and moisturize the skin.

Tip: To moisturize very dry areas such as knees, elbows, feet and hands, apply almond oil every night before bed.

Exfoliating for all skin types

  • Half papaya
  • 1 tablespoon crystal sugar

Mash papaya and mix with sugar. With light, circular motions, exfoliate the skin for three minutes. Rinse your face thoroughly and then apply a facial tonic or astringent lotion.

Tip: The big secret of beautiful skin is to drink more water and sunbathe. This keeps you hydrated, with a healthy glow and protected from the premature aging caused by too much sun.

Exfoliating Sensitive Skin

  • 2 tablespoons finely rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp honey

Mix the ingredients and with circular motions, rub on the face. Then rinse with plenty of water. This mixture is softer and is therefore recommended for sensitive skin as oatmeal helps nourish the skin.

Tip: Sensitive skin needs extra care. Invest in a good SPF 40 or more sunscreen and moisturizers to keep you well-groomed.

Body scrub

A good body scrub protects our skin against blemishes that appear through dryness and also helps to activate circulation, preventing aging and sagging skin. With this, the skin becomes cleaner and hydrated. To apply homemade exfoliation to the body, it is advisable to take a bath with warm water and moist skin, massage with the homemade mixture.

Where can you do body scrub? In areas such as feet (helps remove thicker skin), legs, knee, elbows? in all areas deemed necessary. However, be careful not to forcefully massage areas of very thin skin such as the groin as this may damage the skin.

Sugar Body Scrub

  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 tablespoons almond oil

Mix the two ingredients and with your fingertips, apply gently all over the body with circular motions. Rinse well and to finish, with dry skin pass a specific moisturizer for your skin type.

Tip: Avoid very hot baths. High temperature water dries out the skin, hair, nails and cuticles. Always prefer warm or cold water. If you need to take a hot shower, do not take too long.

Body scrub with vegetable bushing

If you prefer to do an exfoliation without having to make a homemade mix, opt for the exfoliation with the vegetable bush. You can find it in markets and fairs, it is a natural product. Prefer unpigmented or industrialized versions. Use it to exfoliate lightly as it can hurt if you use force when exfoliating. Before using it, soak it in warm water to make it soft and to exfoliate some moisturizing liquid soap. This gives you a fragrant and smooth skin.

Tip: Two days before shaving, gently exfoliate the area to be shaved. This causes the hair to unlock and facilitates their complete removal.
