How to handle embarrassing holiday situations

The holidays are here, and with them the classic awkward situations caused by characters who are present in each one of them every year. Dealing with these situations is not always easy, but with a little waist play, no problem will ruin your celebrations.

Drunk uncle

It's not always uncle. It could be an aunt or a nephew, or a sister-in-law, or a co-worker, so someone always overdoes alcohol and starts to work. To solve the problem, take this person to a private room and calmly explain that there is no party for them anymore. Call a cab, offer a lift, or put the person to sleep if you are a close relative. The important thing here is to avoid vexation and embarrassing situations for other guests.

The Vessel Destroyer

Again, it may not be a vase. Maybe someone spills wine on your new rug, or breaks the platter you inherited from your grandmother, it doesn't matter. No lost object should get her off the hook. Remain calm and say "it was nothing," even if you want to kill someone inside.

It is critical that before the party starts, you get objects and pets out of circulation because accidents happen.

If you still have a problem, take a deep breath and don't miss it: chances are the culprit is already feeling bad about it.

The controversy

This character is present mainly when the party is not in family. He loves to bring up issues that can cause misunderstanding. There is a golden set that, when drawn, gives rise to many problems: football, politics and religion are not in dispute. If this happens at your party, it is important to know how to get out of the tight skirt.

Changing the subject is a good strategy for cutting the issue without being rude. Ask? Who wants pie? or something like that. If you're away from the conversation wheel or ashamed to talk, turn up the music or invite the person who got the subject to "try a new drink".

The early (or the last to leave)

There is always someone who arrives too early to the event, just as there is always someone who will not leave, although the light is already out, the drink is gone, and there is no one else at the party. For both problems, it is best to include in the invitation the start and end time of the party.

If someone still arrives early, ask them to help you finish the preparations. For those guests who insist on staying at the end of the party, kindly explain that you are very tired of everything you have to organize and that now that the party is over, you need to rest. Thank everyone for their presence and walk them to the door.

New Year's Eve parties are good opportunities to meet friends you don't often meet, as well as get your family together and get together. Whatever type of event you choose, enjoy the occasion to have fun with those you love the most.
