How to value your physical type

In Brazil there are women with the most diverse beauties and shapes: tall, short, thin, curvy and so on. In view of this, fashion offers options for these varied body shapes.

The first step in finding the right clothes for your physical type is to recognize your body shape. There are oval or round silhouettes, triangle, inverted triangle, rectangle and hourglass. If you still don't know which one is yours, follow our tips to find out and put into practice our suggestions for composing looks that value your shapes.

Oval / Round Silhouette

The oval silhouette is one in which the waist is wider than the shoulders and hips in more rounded shapes. In this case, it is important to try to narrow the silhouette by hiding the belly and drawing attention to other parts of the body such as the legs and the lap.

Invest in clothes with longer lines and blouses with U-neck or V, complementing with accessories on the neck. Opt for blouses and blazers that are longer than the waist line to not create more belly volume. Sleeveless, high-waisted, straight-cut trousers with a longer bar are great options for women with an oval or round body shape.

Avoid the blouses that show the belly and avoid wearing the piece inside the pants. Also, escape the dresses with cut below the bust or with belts at the waist, as they draw more attention to this area. Very tight pants will thin the legs and accentuate the oval silhouette, the same rule applies to skirts. Try not to wear garments with fabrics and cuts that draw the eye's attention to the waist area, such as horizontal stripes and light, frilly clothing.

Triangle silhouette

Also known as an A-shaped or pear-shaped silhouette, in the triangle silhouette the shoulders are smaller than the hip. This is one of the most common types in Brazilian women.

To give the impression of less volume on your hips, use the shirts or knits with the arm over the shoulder line to lengthen it. Also bet on skirts and pants in dark colors and not too tight. Canoe or shoulder-to-shoulder necklines also create an illusion of longer shoulders. Invest in strapless, bulky-sleeved shirts and try to wear skirts and dresses.

Avoid bulky skirts and low-waisted stretch trousers and cigarettes at all costs. Also escape the single front and American pit blouses. Thin straps are also not best suited for this type. Avoid wearing attention-grabbing bags or accessories at the hip line.

Inverted Triangle Silhouette

Women with an inverted or Y-shaped silhouette have shoulders that are noticeably larger than the hips, quite bust and slender legs. This physical type is more common in European women.

The ideal in this case is to try to lower the shoulders and bust and increase the hip. Bet on one-piece American-style hollow-out dresses, with tight-necked cachete-coeur sweaters. In the upper body, prefer dark colors and in the lower, light. The blouses should preferably be bulky at the shoulder, with horizontal details, canoe neckline and strapless.

Skirts and dresses should be cut straight, flared or rounded. Also invest in the slimmer, plump low-waisted trousers, even you can wear oversized jeans. Tight dresses and tapered skirts also value the inverted triangle-shaped body.

Rectangle Silhouette

The rectangle or H-shaped silhouette is one in which the woman has shoulders, waist and hips in equal measure and needs to mark the waist to break the silhouette and enhance her physical type.

The tip is to wear jackets, jackets with pences or belts that thin the waist. Dark-belted trousers, blouses, and dresses are also good options for the same effect. The trousers should be without pleats, with straight, tapered cuts or with a slightly wider mouth. Enhance the neck with V or U necklines, canoe, earrings and necklaces.

Skirts should be short or short. Corsets also help to sharpen the silhouette. Avoid wearing t-shirts and blazers in larger square models, turtleneck blouses that cover your lap. Avoid straight cut dresses, tight skirts, short jackets and boleros.

Hourglass Silhouette

This physical type is one of the most desired among the Brazilian because it is considered an ideal physical type. But even those who have the hourglass-shaped silhouette need to be careful when assembling looks.

The fuller ones should avoid straight and pence-free clothes and value the waist. A good choice for this physical type is the trapezoid-shaped dress as it gives the feeling of volume at the waist and hip.

Avoid high collars if you have too much bust as it may give the impression that you are overweight.Beware of shoulder-length pieces such as shirts and blazers as your body may end up with the inverted triangle silhouette.

There is always a way to value your best features and disguise unwanted body shapes. The important thing is always to try to keep the balance in the look, to get a more attractive silhouette. The ideal outfit can make you look beautiful even if you are a few pounds over or under.
