Barbarella has been shaking the head of women in Portugal since its inauguration on April 11, as it presents a totally new and unique concept for the salon market. The successful combination is a mix of bar, women's reunion and beauty where women can do hairstyles with their friends in a super comfy and fun atmosphere inspired by the comic muse Barbarella cinema.
The decor is all retro yet modern, with a relaxed and very feminine look. The idea came from the heads of Antony Millard, hairstylist and owner of the Facto salon, and the architect Sónia Millard, called the Blow Dry Bar, a concept that is already being used in salons around the world. But it is in the small details that Barbarella stands out.
Starting with choosing hairstyles and treatments like? Red Carpet Please? which includes massage and oil-based treatment for dry tips, washing, drying and combing (? 25), and which can be complemented with any menu hairstyle? that they make available for consultation. Most interesting is the speed of service: any hairstyle takes 10 minutes to get ready. For the hasty ones, Boyfriend is Waiting It's perfect, where not even the wash is done, just the hairstyle, not to let anyone waiting.
The main idea of the founders of the salon is to change the concept of who thinks that hairstyle is something for super special events like weddings and fancy parties. They even said at the opening in an interview with Mood: “The habit of doing a hairstyle is dying and it's a shame because it's a world to discover. Most people just go to the hairdresser to do hairstyles for parties and weddings, and we want to change that. Should women feel special every day without spending much time or money? The hairstyle menu changes every season and has 9 options ranging from 18 to 26 euros and in the future will feature more elaborate hairstyles for special occasions.
For those who schedule until 12 noon, there are accompaniment options such as a breakfast with tea or coffee, croissant and fruit. In addition, the house offers drinks, as it should be, and the first is the house offering, with the menu wine, natural juices and hot drinks.
Closing the touches of the place, Coco Chanel's phrases etch the walls and serve as inspiration alongside beautiful wallpapers. The highlight goes to the crystal chandeliers and the pin-up that stands just outside the Blow Dry Bar, welcoming visitors.
For those looking for something beyond beautiful hair, the salon offers a manicure service. The venue is ideal for a girl friend program and a change of look between gym and work or between events.
