In 2013, when she was just 19, Kaitlyn Dobrow acquired a terrible bacterial meningitis that nearly took her life.
Although she was saved, the young Californian lost her arms, legs and half of all her skin and had to undergo more than 20 surgeries.
This tragedy might have put an end to Kaitlyn's joy of life, but she found the strength and inspiration to turn it around.
She started recording videos teaching how to do amazing makeup and became a true star of YouTube and Instagram.
Understand the terrible disease of Kaitlyn
By contracting very serious bacterial meningitis, Kaitlyn saw her whole body turn purple and swollen. Then her skin developed blisters that resembled third degree burns, which caused 57% of her skin to simply fall out.

His fingers and toes began to darken and the circulation of his arms and legs was interrupted, forcing the doctors to amputate his four limbs.
Kaitlyn still spent six months in the intensive care burn center, where she had to undergo a tracheostomy, was tube-fed, and suffered a number of respiratory complications.
The lap over Kaitlyn
Despite all this tragedy, Kaitlyn did not accept having to give up her dreams. After receiving her prostheses, the young woman decided to learn to use the full potential of the equipment.
Some time later she relearned how to walk and put on makeup using her prosthetics and opened a YouTube channel. ÜI just love makeup. That's what I can do, that's what I love, and this is my hobby? She said without her first video.
On her social networks, Kaitlyn advertises her make-up video tutorials and gives some very valuable lessons, such as the post where she proudly displays the scars on her back, telling them that the image has been treated to further highlight them.

Today, Kaitlyn has over 176,000 YouTube channel subscribers, 161,000 followers on her Instagram profile, and 119,000 likes on her Facebook fanpage.
