Research Reveals New Folic Acid Benefit

Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9 as a derivative of vitamin B, already had a long list of health benefits, and a recent survey of more than 85,000 mothers who gave birth in the period 2002-2008, prove that the vitamin helps in reducing the rate of autism in children, especially the most severe cases of the disorder.

According to a study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association that tracked mothers from before birth to 6 years later, the risk drops by 0.1%, which statistically may seem low, but it makes a good difference and contributes a lot to child's health and is good for the mother.

And if that wasn't enough, B9 fights aging problems, reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease, controls hypertension, and best of all, is easily found in leafy green vegetables, legumes, grains, cereals, tomatoes, eggs, milk, orange, mushrooms, almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, liver, cashews and soy.
