The espadrilles are back: learn how to use

As they say, in life everything is copied and also reinvented. The espadrilles, which are the most comfortable and heelless version of the famous espadrilles, anabela-heeled sandals that have been in fashion for a few seasons, are back. They are also great options to replace traditional sneakers, always chosen to compose the most basic and less formal looks. Big brands like Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Valentino and even Brazilian Schutz decided to bet on the return of this icon of cozy shoes.

When the espadrilles came up

In the 1970s, espadrilles were already used, but in a completely different way from the current one. The materials were basically restricted to plain-colored canvas or string-soled jeans. The new espadrilles are very modern and elaborate, and can be present not only in weekend productions, but also in the usual occasions of the week, such as going to work (depending on what profession you have) or college, for example.

Raw material

The traditional materials used to make the espadrilles are still cotton canvas and jeans, with braided rope soles. However, they are now presented in a contemporary way to compete with other more elaborate and attractive materials, such as lace, which appear hyper-colored, even in neon tones, a trend. Other materials are also being used to give more life to the espadrilles, among them the metals, that is, the chains (appear adorning the soles), the studs, spikes and eyelets that adorn the body of the shoe, the part made by canvas, jeans or other firm fabric.

How to assemble looks with espadrilles

The canvas espadrilles resurface colorful and patterned, which makes the look much cooler and more modern.

They match perfectly with jeans and basic or print blouses and even shirts. It is possible to assemble unpretentious looks with the espadrilles. How about betting on shorts, be they jeans, colored twill or printed fabrics? Abuse accessories to finalize combinations.

The espadrilles also go very well with the dresses and miniskirts. Bet on light and fluid tissues, including pleats. To use patterned pieces, prefer espadrilles in plain fabrics, at most with some details of studs or spikes, which give an extra grace in shoes. The espadrilles prints look better in more discreet looks, such as pieces in neutral tones or just a piece of color that is present in the print of the shoe.

Top espadrilles models

Patterned espadrilles models have attracted a lot of attention, especially for the force that the designs and the bright colors give to the looks. It is worth betting on floral, ethnic, animal prints, especially leopard, zebra, snake and giraffe, stripes and various geometric designs.

National brands to invest

Among the main brands that bet on espadrilles in their collections here in Brazil are Miezko, Perky Shoes, Capodarte, Dumond, FiveBlu, Santa Lolla, Pink Connection, Schutz and Desmond.
