Tips for organizing your photos on social networks

Social networks are a source of entertainment and information, but are also widely used, intentionally or not, for observation and analysis of psychological profiles of people with whom we live. Taking care of what is shared on these channels is important to avoid misunderstandings about what we are or think about, and as images can give rise to a broader interpretation, taking care of published photos is critical.

The University of Ohio in the United States recently conducted research that found netizens care more about images posted by other users on social networks than content in other formats.

The study aimed to identify the determining factor for forming an opinion about someone on a social network and used as a tool the platform created by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook. Among the 195 students surveyed, most considered photos to be more relevant for interpretation and evaluation than profile description texts.

In addition, survey participants made value judgments about different images, classifying profiles with photos of parties or gatherings of friends as extroverts and profiles with photos of people alone in parks as shy people.

Another common aspect in the evaluations was the fact that only the profiles of people considered shy and those that contained photos with some strange or negative element did not have the textual contents ignored, that is, people sought more information before forming an opinion.

In order not to risk conveying misconceptions about expressing your happiness, success and sociability on social networks, here are some tips on how to organize your photos and maintain a good presentation:

Without overexposure

Making your personal and professional routine public, and reproducing them without detail, to people with whom you do not maintain a level of relationship that supports this conduct is inappropriate and considered unpleasant for many.

To look after the image as one wants to be seen and remembered, avoiding slips that can ruin the virtual reputation, one of the fundamental precautions is not to download the camera or mobile photos directly to social media without selecting them.

Quality selection and editing

To make the selection of images to be published on social networks well, one should observe the photos in detail, avoiding photos that are blurry, with poor lighting or with embarrassing details for someone. This last point is crucial, because those who expose others to embarrassment lose their respect and may suffer from the same lack of solidarity.

Also be careful when making adjustments to image editors such as Photoshop, do not do it if you do not know the software properly, because use this feature and not leave? Traces? Handling is important to avoid embarrassment.

Themes and Order

Another aspect that needs attention is the way we distribute our imagery information. Creating albums separated by themes and placing the photos in them in chronological order makes it more interesting for your profile visitor to experience information about their past and present.

Appropriate audience

Since everything you post on social networks is updated in real time to others, avoid embarrassment about privacy: when creating a photo album, set it up so that at first you only see the content, make all the adjustments and only then allow access to others you rate appropriate? Be especially careful if you have children in your contacts.

Slips in social networks are very common, so attention is critical. Taking the necessary care, these technological resources can be enjoyed with peace of mind and provide the opportunity to showcase their brilliance and make a difference to the world.
