Wall stickers: tips for revitalizing any environment

No mess, no hassle and no expense: stickers are the best option to spice up your walls

Wall stickers are a great option for those who want to give a fresh face in some environment of the house without having to spend a lot and without having a headache. Most have a very simple application, you can even do it yourself.

There are many options of stickers available in the market, we will give some tips to help you find the perfect sticker for you!

How to choose the wall sticker?

The sticker can be used in any environment, and with many design possibilities, colors and sizes. There are smaller stickers, only with a certain design or writing and others that mimic the wallpaper. But how do you know which one is best for each environment? The choice of sticker greatly depends on the taste of each person. But we won't let you down. We talked to interior designer Lívia Lopes, who gave some tips on wall stickers.

Living room

The room is a very important environment as it is where we meet with family, friends, where we relax after a tiring day. The stickers can help to create a very nice atmosphere. You can use fun phrases or some design that suits you and the furniture in the room. "For living rooms and homes, we might dare a little bit, putting some images or movie plots, plotting a drawing, if it's a playroom, for example." ? suggests Livia.

bedroom

The bedroom is the most personal part of the house, it is the best place to print the whole personality on the stickers and decoration. The designs are very beautiful in the rooms, you can play with the architecture and the furniture. There are stickers that simulate a headboard in the bed, get very creative! But it is good to avoid large stickers that have very vibrant colors, as it can get tiresome and disrupt sleep. A cool tip for roommates, like siblings, is to use different types of stickers on each side of the room, as this gives everyone a chance to leave their corner with their face.

Kitchen

One type of adhesive commonly used in kitchens is those of hydraulic tiles, those tiles. They are great for relaxing in the kitchen, you can use different designs, a very beautiful and colorful assembly. Livia suggests sticking the blackboard, because you can write and draw, just like on a blackboard. The cool thing is that you can erase and redraw and write messages for the other residents of the house.

WC

In the bathroom is nice to play with the environment, think beyond the walls, the glass box sticking is very interesting, or even in the mirror, with some phrase or the simulation of a frame. It is good to opt for a tougher adhesive such as vinyl as there is a lot of moisture in the bathroom and it is a place that will need more care and maintenance. Lívia also points out that for adhesive environments such as the bathroom and the kitchen, where ceramic is generally used, it is important to level the grouting part with the ceramic so that the adhesive is straight, it indicates the use of acrylic paste for leveling.

Most importantly, more than any trend tip is to think about your personality to choose the sticker. It's no use being a beautiful sticker if it doesn't suit you.

Sticker x paper x wallpaper

Wall stickers are more practical and much cheaper. They can be applied in different formats, but they are not usually used to cover the whole wall, they are more commonly used in a more specific way in decoration, with drawings or text, for example. Ideally, in this case, you should opt for wallpaper or wallpaper.

Wallpapers are more traditional and the application is a little more complex than stickers. Still, they can be applied by yourself without much difficulty. Just be careful not to get air bubbles. Maintenance is only done by cleaning, vacuuming or dustering weekly and a slightly damp cloth sometimes.

Already the wall fabrics have a longer durability, however, the application is more complicated than the paper and the adhesive. For cleaning use only a vacuum cleaner, duster or a dry cloth. The fabrics are not suitable for humid environments, as the glue does not adhere properly in this case.
