Benefits of Ojon Oil for Your Hair

Ojon Oil, recently launched in the Brazilian hair cosmetics market, is an oil with the same composition as hair keratin, rich in amino acids and natural antioxidants, which promises to surpass the well-known Argan Oil, providing recovery, intense shine, strength and protection from daily aggression to the wires.

Also called Batana Oil or American Oil, Ojon Oil is extracted from the walnut of the Ojon palm, typical of the Honduran rainforest. This oil has been used for many years throughout the Caribbean and Central America region as an ally in hair treatments and was introduced by the Tawira Miskito tribe, whose name means "beautiful hair people".

The production of Ojon Oil is the foundation of the Honduran tribes, who have dubbed it a precious liquid, both for being an indispensable source of income and for its power in aesthetic treatments for hair and skin.

What types of hair can benefit from Ojon Oil?

Honduran oil is particularly suitable for hair that has dried out or has been damaged in any way, either by using chemicals such as straightening and dyeing or by overexposure to the sun's heat, hair dryer or thermal boards.

There is no contraindication to using Ojon Oil, even those who usually have great sensitivity in hair and scalp can use it, because its actives are composed of lipids similar to those naturally found in hair.

Should the use of this oil be avoided only prior to staining or chemical treatments? as straightening or permanent, because, as it works as a protector of the hair structure, it can hinder the opening action of the hair cuticle to deposit the substances that will color, straighten or curl the hair.

How to use Ojon Oil for your hair

Ojon Oil comes in many forms: pure oil, serum, antifrizz, treatment mask, shampoo and conditioner. Each product has an application function.

  • Pure oil is used as a thermal protector and should be applied to wet strands before drying, flat iron or babyliss;
