Dealing with bulky hair is a nuisance for most Brazilian women, who would like to have a normal hair volume. For this, the hair market offers several different products, all promising to end frizz and control the indiscipline of the hair. The latest addition is murumuru butter, which has been touted as "the new argan oil" because it has a great power of nutrition and hydration.
"This product really has an effect that comes in handy, because Brazilian women have this need to tame undisciplined hair, because, due to our genetic mix, Brazilian hair is full, full and frizzy," says hairstylist Viviane Siqueira, from the Pierre Louis Coiffeur salon in Rio de Janeiro.

Murumuru is a 100% Brazilian fruit grown in abundance in the Amazon. It is a species of coconut that, when ripe, has a reddish color. From its seed is extracted an oil that is transformed into a very nutritious butter, with emollient and moisturizing effects. Butter had already been used in cosmetics such as body moisturizers, soaps and even lipsticks. But only now has it begun to be used in hair products in a new way. ? For now murumuru butter is not sold pure, but only used in cosmetic products. The precursor was L? Oréal Professionel, which recently launched the Absolut Control line, with products created especially for Brazilian hair, aiming to reduce up to 65% of volume, increase hydration by 30% and control up to 80% of frizz.
New Hair Products
L? Oréal products were created after the company conducted a survey among women in Brazil. The result pointed out that 47% of them said to have hair with volume that is beyond control. And 80% demonstrated the desire to have hair with a more natural volume.
At a press conference at the official launch of the line, L? Oréal's development department director, Maya Colombani, said the idea was to launch a revolutionary product that would unite technology and natural intelligence that could fully meet the needs of Brazilians, who are the most demanding women in the world regarding hair.
The Absolut Control line contains shampoo, conditioner, styling cream, cleansing balm, and intensive murumuru butter-based mask, which should be used in accordance with product instructions. Another ingredient is glutamic acid, one of the most efficient emollient amino acids that helps reduce volume and hydrate, strengthening hair fiber and preventing the effect of external moisture. One of the differentials of the treatment is that the cream itself already shapes the hair, eliminating the use of the dryer. Prices range from 54 to 111 Reais.
