Evangelical fashion: ideas of looks to go to services

Evangelical churches generally follow their own dress pattern and custom for religious celebration, for both men and women.

While they go in suits or dress pants and shirt, women range from long skirts to dresses. But it is not so at all. According to fashion consultant Blenda Wenceslas, each church has its own doctrine and dress code. Thus, habits vary from church to church in terms of dress.

What can and cannot?

Still according to the consultant, what is common to all evangelicals is the concern with the length of shorts, dresses and skirts, necklines, slits, glued clothes, which mark or show too much body and transparency.

Clothing with the characteristics mentioned above should be avoided, but what can and cannot go from every doctrine and church to women's conscience. Rules and doctrines exist, but do each end up according to what they believe to be right, according to their own conscience? clarifies the consultant Blenda.

8 suggestions of looks for evangelicals

Blenda suggests the use of midi length in looks: • High in the fashion world, midi length is elegant and suits the evangelical woman very well (despite being hated by many).

Skirts in godê model with marked waist and pencil or straight skirts are also good options, according to the consultant. In addition to skirts, the slimmer straight cut trousers can also be worn in churches where the custom is more liberal with regard to wearing these pieces.

To complete the look, the consultant indicates basic nightgowns and shirts, with prints ranging from the most delicate, such as those of poa, to those of animal print. Check out some looks assembled with the suggestions of the consultant Blenda Wenceslau:

1. Look lady like with godê skirt

Modern look and tailor made. This look appeals to romantic women with Lady Like Style. The suggestion is a medium-length godê skirt with a waist marked with a basic printed nightgown and blazer. In the feet, a heavy sandal (type galdiadora). Clutch bag or envelope.

2. Look with pencil skirt

According to the consultant, this look pleases the sexiest women. Combine a knee-length pencil skirt with a silk shirt with transparency, animal print or bright red. If you use transparency, the consultant indicates to put a tank top underneath so as not to leave the lingerie on display.

3. Classic look with straight skirt

Bet on a light-colored straight skirt and match it with a dust shirt or other small print. On the feet, the scarpin gives class and sophistication to the look. This combination is suitable for classic and traditional women.

4. Classic look with pants

For churchgoers who release the use of pants, it is suggested to choose models that do not mark much and are wider. Check out an example of look with straight cut pants, T-shirt and sandal:

5. Modern look with pants

For those who want to dare the look and make it more fashion, the colorful boyfriend pants are great options. To match the shirt or shirt without error, choose a print that contains the color of the pants, as in the example. Combine with a sneaker or flat if you prefer not to wear heels.

6. Look with dress

When you want to innovate in looks and bet on the delicacy and femininity of dresses, invest in models that will make you feel comfortable within the church environment. On the feet, sandals, scarps, sneakers and half-heeled shoes can be worn as you wish. Remember that closed-to-ankle-fitting shoes give the impression of a shorter silhouette and thicker legs. But the scarpins and shoes that leave the foot more exposed help to fine-tune the silhouette, especially those with thin toes.

7. Look half season

When autumn comes, or even on the cooler days of summer and spring, it's worth wrapping a little more, but without losing your style. Bet on the dresses with jeans or synthetic leather jackets and protect yourself from the wind of this era. On the feet, use an ankle boot, a female boots or a high boot.

8. Look winter

Already in winter and on colder days, the suggestion is to invest in pants and dresses and skirts with thicker socks to warm up. Invest in the warm, high-heeled boots and top off the look with an overcoat. The look is chic and very cozy.

Testimonials: What Do Evangelicals Wear?

Check out the testimonies of the evangelicals interviewed about the dress and customs of the churches they attend:

Carol Calegari (Foursquare Gospel Church): There is no doctrine about clothes, but I try to have common sense when dressing.

Kellin Cris Vacari Conchon (Evangelical Community): In my church there is no custom, as in some.Of course, we understand that the church is the house of the Lord, so we must respect and go with proper clothing, ie not too short, transparent, etc. I usually put on a pair of pants and a shirt or jeans and a nice shirt or, if it's hot, a knee-length dress.

Luciana Brown Didier (First IPI? Independent Presbyterian Church): I believe in discernment and wisdom, that is, common sense. Everything that would be too much: too short, too fair, too low-cut, too bold (should be avoided).

Michely Mileski Zuliani (Potter's House): There is no dress rule, but we are oriented about the dress of the worship, because as the house of recovery is male and the students (as the inmates are called) attend the service together with the church members we should be careful that we don't get their attention too much (so they don't lose focus, which should be on worship and not on girls). We don't wear low-cut clothes, transparencies, and very short clothes (dresses, skirts, knee-length shorts) for worship. But outside the church there is no problem wearing these clothes. But it is a matter of common sense and also of conscience about biblical purposes. I don't wear shorts and very short skirts, very deep necklines, those transparent blouses I only wear with tank tops underneath. Not because religion forbids me, but because I don't feel comfortable with "provocative" clothes, I never liked to show my body too much.

Ariella Amaral (Church of the Nazarene): The dress habits of the church are ruled by common sense. There are no bans but I don't wear very short, transparent, tight or low-cut clothes. Usually the clothes I wear outside the church also wear inside, except for shorter summer shorts. It has already happened that the pastor drew the particular attention of some teenagers who were dressing very inadequately / provocatively within the church. I feel good about what I see inside and outside, because it reflects my personality and not my body.
