Iontophoresis: New Treatment to Eliminate Cellulite

A problem that affects approximately 80% of women, cellulitis can undermine the self-esteem of Brazilian women. Depending on the level she is in, it is possible to invest in specific treatments to get rid of them.

Characterized by ripples in the skin, they are classified into four levels: in the first, they can be perceived by pressing the affected region. In the second, small lumps appear on the skin, and in the fourth, cellulite can be observed even with clothes.

There are aesthetic treatments that can reduce or assist in eliminating them in the body. One is the process of iontophoresis. Do you already know this treatment?

Treatment with ionization Or iontophoresis is responsible for promoting the penetration of cosmetics directly into the skin, allowing better absorption. Unlike other treatments, the technique favors the attraction between the product and the body, contributing to obtain more positive results.

The physiotherapist Barbara Richter explains that "iontophoresis has the ability to introduce superficial substances into the skin to aid in the anti-cellulite slimming process through the action of electro cosmetics".

Operation

Through the device available in the clinic, substances with specific active ingredients are introduced, which activate the blood and lymphatic circulation, providing a better and less invasive result.

To achieve positive effects, it is recommended to do at least 5 to 10 sessions. Remembering that each session lasts, on average, 30 to 40 minutes.

But it must be understood that treatment alone does not solve the problem. It is extremely important to combine physical exercise with a quality and balanced diet. Ideally, go to your nutritionist for guidance on what you should or should not consume.

Be alert

As with other aesthetic treatments, attention needs to be paid in some specific cases. Pregnant women, pacemaker carriers, infection, metal prostheses, for example, cannot invest in iontophoresis.

Therefore, before adhering to any cosmetic treatment, you should consult your dermatologist to see if your condition allows you to do so.

Home care

In addition to treatments done at specialist clinics, you may have some home care to combat cellulite. In the bath, apply exfoliating liquid soap every day to the affected areas. For this, use a simple sponge and rub the region with circular movements.

Using cosmetics that promise to reduce them can also help. But first, consult your dermatologist to teach him which movements will be most effective.
