Learn how to make a homemade clay mask that cleans, invigorates and treats the skin.

Clay is a very beneficial component for our skin, able to replenish lost nutrients during the day, rebalance the pH, remove blackheads and leave it looking hydrated and lush.

With that in mind, our tip today is a homemade mask made of powdered clay, a cheap ingredient that you find in any compounding pharmacy.

Julia teaches you how to make the mask Julia C Forti, and she says she learned this trick at Aesthetics College.

Write down the products you will need:

  • Face Liquid Soap
  • Cotton wads
  • Facial tonic
  • Facial Astringent (if desired)
  • Facial moisturizer
  • Clay powder (preferably green or white)
  • Sunscreen with SPF above 30

As clay stains your nails and clothing, it is interesting that you wear older gloves and clothing when applying your mask, so you won't be sad to splatter some of the mask on your shirt.

If you do not want to wet your hair, wrap it with a shower cap, as it is difficult to rinse your face and remove products without wetting the hair on the forehead.

In the video recorded by Julia C Forti, youtuber first teaches how to cleanse the skin and prepare it to receive the clay mask next. Follow the tips and follow the walkthrough below:

1. Wipe your facial liquid soap all over your face and rinse off with a wet cotton swab;

2. Apply a gentle exfoliator (can pass around the neck as well) with circular motions;

3. Wrap a piece of cotton with a gauze to make a bouffant and moisten to remove the exfoliator from your face (not only with the cotton);

4. With the help of a cotton, apply a facial tonic and, if desired, combine with an astringent and pass your moisturizer preferably;

5. Mix 1 tablespoon of clay powder with a little water to a point that does not run down your face;

6. Tip: pour water slowly and stir constantly until consistency between liquid and paste;

7. Apply the clay to the whole face with the aid of a spatula, taking care of the eye area and the eyebrows;

8. Wait 10 minutes for the mask to dry and remove the clay with a damp bouillon made of cotton wrapped in gauze;

9. Apply a facial tonic to soothe the skin and remove redness and apply oil-free sunscreen.

When the mask dries on your face, you will feel a slight feeling of tightness due to the work the clay does on the skin.

It may be a little laborious to remove the clay, but don't give up because it will come out. It is normal to have a slightly reddened skin after application, and this effect is softened with the application of a tonic.
