Step-by-Step How to Make Spike and Stud Bracelet

Spike and stud bracelets have been very successful this year 2012. The models range from bolder, more discreet compositions and some with a more romantic and feminine feel.

These bracelets can be combined in day or night looks and look great when coordinated into a mix of bracelets of different types and colors. The idea of wearing several bracelets together is also on the rise this year.

To get into the fashion of these accessories, we decided to make our own spike and thumbtack bracelets. The whole process is very simple and is not time consuming. Best of all, home-made bracelets can cost anywhere from 40% to 60% less than a bracelet bought from a retail store.

To make the spike bracelets you will need: 10 to 13 spikes and bases to glue them, a three-dimensional 3D glue and some silicone wire. Spikes and thumbtacks cost about $ 0.50 each. Glue around $ 4.00 and silicone thread can cost up to less than $ 1.00. You can find the materials at a supply shop or a material for making accessories. See the photo below for the material we use.

The first step is to glue the spikes to the bases, being careful not to leak too far out of the base. If it leaks a little, clean with a cotton swab. That done, let them dry for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Then take the silicon wire and cut a piece that can be looped twice around your wrist and which is about to tie the two ends quietly. Thread the spikes and put them all on your bracelet. When finished, tie the silicon thread together with 5 tight knots so that they do not come loose.

Can you also do the same process with thumbtacks that don't need gluing on the base? those that come with the right space to pass the silicone wire. The process for making stud bracelets is basically the same, but with the ease of not having to glue the parts together.

Bracelets vary in size from wrist to wrist, so keep an eye out when buying materials. Thinner pulses may only need 10 spikes or thumbtacks, while wider pulses may need up to 14 pieces. See below how the final result of spike bracelets and thumbtacks made following our step-by-step look.

Now that you know how to make your own fashion bracelets, you can make them home and put together your own mix of bracelets, how about?
