BB cream, CC cream and DD cream: see the differences and benefits.

About a year ago, major beauty product brands launched a product that promised to revolutionize the dermocosmetic market.

Blemish Balm cream (beauty repair balm), known as BB cream, was developed in Germany by a doctor who prescribed it for peeling and laser aftercare.

The product in question uniformizes skin color, reduces irritation and even protects from UV rays. Soon, the cream was produced by major brands with the promise of replacing some makeup items, such as primer and foundation, and currently DD cream, the most? Advanced? even offers self-tanning.

Although BB cream has not yet become popular in Brazil, the beauty industry is already investing in its successors: CC cream and DD cream. See the differences between each product and know its benefits.

Blemish Balm Cream (BB cream)

Which is?

It is a dermocosmetic that contains oil-free moisturizer, SPF (sun protection factor) and color.

Main benefits:

Replaces the primer and base with its regenerative effect.
Lightens blemishes, regulates skin oils, closes pores and prevents the formation of wrinkles and pimples
It's indicated to all skin types.

Disadvantages:

It does not cover very large imperfections since its coverage is smooth. Therefore, it is not intended for use in situations requiring "full coverage". In this case, the base is the best option.
Just like the foundations, there are several colors of BB cream. The tip is to choose the color similar to the tone of the skin. If in doubt, test the products on their own face, letting them act for five minutes. The one that disappears is the ideal tone.
National brands have not yet popularized BB cream, so the price is not yet very advantageous over domestic bases and primers. Maybelline, meanwhile, introduces the product in Brazil in February 2013.

Color Control Cream (CC cream)

Which is?

CC cream (color control cream) is the successor version of BB cream. Both have the same active ingredients: oil-free moisturizer, SPF (sun protection factor) and color. The difference is that this new version brings active whitening that unify and correct skin tone.

Main benefits:

Like BB cream, it also replaces the primer and base.
It's indicated to all skin types.
It has a lighter texture, high sun protection factor and better skin fixation than BB cream.
Each cream has a different formula for each skin color, making it even more even.

Disadvantage:

National brands have not yet manufactured CC cream and the expected arrival of this product in Brazil is 2014.

Daily Defense (DD cream)

Which is?

DD cream is one of the promises for 2013. Its formula is even more complete than that of the other two creams, containing active tanning ingredients.

Main benefits:

Reduces blemishes, softens scars and prevents the appearance of stretch marks through skin regeneration.
Acts as an artificial tanner.
It does not need to be used daily, but 2-3 times a week.
It can be used all over the body, especially in rougher areas.
