Research reveals post-breakup dating habits on Facebook

Breaking up today seems a lot more complicated than it was in the past. Before, the ending involved only the two people. Today, there are the opinions of many people, especially through social networks, that let you know everything the other is doing.

A survey of more than 2,000 people in England showed what people think about their breakup dating exposure. See some results:

  • 42% exclude ex from Facebook and stop following on Twitter;
  • 34% delete all photos of the former;
  • 31% eliminate all contacts linked to the former, such as friends and family;
  • 65% consider it acceptable to show off their new status to 'single';
  • 18% think it's normal to put the status in a serious relationship? with a new partner within the first month after termination;
  • 30% think it's normal to tag photos of the new partner within the first month after the breakup
  • 17% think it's acceptable to pursue? the ex channels to try to find out what's new in your life.

For psychologist and behavioral expert Craig Jackson of Brirmingham City University, "these results confirm what many psychologists suspect about those who grew up surrounded by social media: do they fall in the" digital love "? very quickly, that is, they provide online confirmation as the validation of a new relationship but are able to get out of it quickly too?
